Go Fund Me Started by Family of Man Killed by Police in Falls Twp

A family member of the man shot and killed by police in Falls Township on Sunday has started to a Go Fund Me to pay for funeral costs and exspenses, saying “he didn’t deserve what happened to him.”
Mary Lambetsos, of Morrisville created the fundraising effort early Monday asking the community for help, “on behalf of my beloved brother- in- law, George Perez…who was tragically killed Sunday.”
“We are all so heart broken. George was a devoted father to six beautiful children. He did all he could for his family before his life was suddenly cut short.” she wrote.
Until the post, the victim’s identity of the police shooting had yet to be released.
Police say they were responding to a domestic disturbance call on the 400 block of Federal Lane. in the Penns Grant community, when the shooting happened.
Sources on scene say Perez came at police with a butchers knife in hand, however, investigators have not confirmed or denied those allegations.
“Everyone is extremely shocked that this killing took place. Anyone who knew George will miss him. He was funny, very kind and had the most amazingly warm smile. My sister has lost the love of her life and our grief is overwhelming” says the Go Fund Me post.
On Sunday, Falls Township Chief of Police, Nelson Whitney said the Bucks County District Attorney’s office is handling the investigation, since police were involved in the shooting and killing of Perez.
A spokesperson for the DA’s office said Sunday evening at around 12 pm Falls Township Police were dispatched for a domestic disturbance report.
A male at the residence was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers, or anyone else at the residence, were injured.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and their Detectives were notified and responded and are now leading the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and no more information will be provided at this time, said officials.
Social media posts by family Perez’s members have said the whole story isn’t being told. Attempts to contact one specific family member, who appears to have intimate knowledge of the detail surrounding the shooting, were unsuccessful as of Tuesday morning.
The fundraising effort for Perez has garnered 26 donors with over $3500.00 raised with the goal of $8000.00 being raised.
