The driver that struck and injured a Morrisville Borough Police Corporal has a Bucks County warrant for DUI and was driving with a suspended DUI license, authorities said, Tuesday morning.
Identified as Juan Martinez, from Trenton, New Jersey, Morrisville Borough Chief of Police George McClay said, he had an outstanding warrant from Bucks County for a DUI and was driving on a suspended DUI License. .
Falls is leading the crash investigation that left Corporal William Smith with head and neck injuries, in stable condition at Capital Health in New Jersey, last night.
Smith was attending to a motorist when his Police SUV was struck in the rear while on the side of Rt 1 at Pennsylvania Avenue, McClay said.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Route 1 southbound near Route 13, officials said.

Martinez was taken into custody by Police on the warrant last night on the warrant.
A review of online Bucks County Court records don’t show any new criminal charges filed against Martinez also.
Falls Twp Police did not respond to requests for information about Martinez as of 11:50 am Tuesday morning.
