Service for Unclaimed Veteran to Held Next Week, Coroner says

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck is pleased to announce that her office has identified another of the County’s unclaimed decedents who died in 2015 as being a United States Veteran. “Our office is working  diligently to have the County’s unclaimed properly laid to rest. We are proud to see that those who served our  country are honored and given a special sendoff”, Buck stated as she invites the community to attend the Unattended Veterans Service. It is open to the public and will be held at Washington Crossing National  Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA, 18940 on Thursday, March 30th at 2:00pm. The veteran being  interred is: 

  • Richard Brooks, Army (Private First Class), World War II era, from Doylestown  Borough 

During the ceremony, these veterans’ names will be read, and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will  present the flag on the behalf of the veterans. A rifle salute and live Taps will be provided. After the ceremony,  the veterans will each be placed in their own niche in the columbarium which will be engraved with “Proudly Served.”
