The Levittown woman who set several fires at her home last year was granted immediate parole after agreeing to plead nolo contendere on arson charges.
Catherine Mary Gerretz, 60, agreed to not admit guilt but accept the criminal conviction and punishment set out by Court of Common Pleas Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr last Tuesday (July 7).
Gerretz was scheduled to go on trial that same day, however attorneys for both sides were able to hammer out the details of the no-contest pleas.
She was sentenced to serve a maximum of 23 months in jail. She’s been incarcerated since her arrest last September and was given credit for time served leading to her release.

Gerretz is to have no contact with an individual identified by the initials D.Z and to also seek mental health treatment, according to court records.
It was a little more than a year ago Gerretz set her home on fire several times over a 24 hour time frame.
Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said this morning there were three fires set in less than 24 hours at the 23 Yellowood Drive address in the Levittown section of the township. He quickly deemed the fires as the work of an arsonist.
Bristol authorities arrested Gerretz last fall by filing 35 charges of which 14 were arson-related felonies.
